Bombadil & Goldberry

When I first read FOTR I pictured Tom and Goldberry as young-looking. Now, as I am introduced to them again, I picture them as my age. It seems too difficult to imagine wisdom in young faces. Though when I was young that was perfectly acceptable.

Lord of the Rings

It’s been a while since I posted here. It’s hard to keep up a blog when life gets busy.

I’m re-reading Lord of the Rings by Tolkein. Actually, I’m listening to it on tape. It’s been a long time since I have read this book, and I remember the feeling of joy I got the first time I read it. The magical world of Hobbits is so special. I’m still on the first book – this is going to take some time. Of course I have seen all the movies, but those rush through the plot so fast, it’s hard to appreciate the characters and setting.

I'm also reading Alexander McCall's new book: Friends, Lovers, Chocolates which is part of his Sunday Philosophy club series. I was very disappointed in the first one of this series so I didn't rush out and buy Friends. I waited for it to come to the library. I really do enjoy his Number One Detective Agency books.
